HICKOIDS "WALTZ-A-CROSS-DRESS-TEXAS"You got Texas-sized trouble! Saustex is pleased to announce the re-issue of the Hickoids long out-of-print classic mini-album "Waltz-A-Cross-Dress-Texas". Originally released on Toxic Shock Records in 1989, the disc sports a fist full of tales drawn from the band’s own humorous hard-luck stories. Produced by Spot (Black Flag, Meat Puppets, Minutemen), Waltz has a ballsier sound than their debut "We’re In It For The Corn" and includes perpetual audience favorites "Queen of the Bar-B-Q", "Brand New Way" and "Git Back In The Truck".

THE SONS OF HERCULES"A DIFFERENT KIND OF UGLY" Texas’ long reigning garage rock kings The Sons Of Hercules are back with their new full-length disc “A Different Kind Of Ugly”. The Sons make no big departures from their time tested formula: Pounding drums, riffing guitars and punk attitude courtesy of legendary frontman Frank Pugliese. Chris “Frenchie” Smith’s sharp production takes the band’s near perfect synthesis of Dolls, Dead Boys and Stooges to new heights on rockers like “Brain Dead”, “Startin’ To Slip”, “A Different Kind Of Ugly” and the pop-friendly “Your Salvation”. Also includes a cover of the Saints “Misunderstood”. This disc is a must-have for any fan of the Garage Rock/Punk genre.
SNOWBYRD "DIOSDADO" “Diosdado” is the new set from genre defying San Antonio combo Snowbyrd. The album title is derived from drummer Manny Castillo’s middle name, which translated literally from Spanish means “God given”. Castillo died in early 2009 at the age of 40 after a brief battle with lung cancer. The disc’s 14 tracks include 7 new compositions recorded with Grammy winning producer Joe Trevino just weeks before Castillo’s diagnosis. The remaining tracks were culled from the band’s archive of unreleased studio recordings with Manny. “Diosdado” is a simultaneous tribute to Manny’s singular, bombastic style and a document of the inimitable sound forged with longtime friends and band mates, the brothers Lutz. The band fuses disparate influences ranging Brit-pop, Prog-rock, Shoegaze and alt-country into something unique and distinctly Texan.

HICKOIDS “The Hairy Chafin’ ” EP marks the first release of new Hickoids material in two decades. Recorded over the past couple of years the chaotic Texan cow-punks’ new set picks up where their 1989 disc “Waltz-A-Cross-Dress-Texas” left off. Only slightly mellowed and marginally wiser, original members Davy Jones (guitar) and Jeff Smith (vocals) tackle new subject matter: what it takes to be hip on the conjunto-punk crossover “Cool Arrow”, cohabitation and the AARP set on “Side By Side Doublewides” and the importance of knowing how to get where you’re going on “The Workingman’s Friend”. The band also expands on their sound with the addition of keyboards and pedal steel on the new tunes. After all this time the boys still bring it with genre-bending punk attitude and ribald, citified barnyard humor.
The EP is a limited-edition, truncated version of their forthcoming album “Hairy Chafin’ Ape Suit” and is being mailed to a select group of DJ’s and critics and is available for purchase exclusively through the band and label websites in the “Warhick Banana” Peel Sticker package.

Los Mockers"The Original Recordings 1965-67" CD Had they been born in an English-speaking part of the world, a compilation like this would have been released years ago, for they would surely be one of the best-known groups of the sixties. But Los Mockers happened to live in a small place in South America called Uruguay, something you’ll hardly believe when you listen to their music.
MOTORAMA "Psychotronic Is The Beat!' CDThe brash and bratty MOTORAMA have been bashing skins and destroying strings since their infantile inception in 2000. This two piece, debaucherous duo from Rome have really honed their low brow, mid-fidelity skills over the years and are back with another bass-less dose of blues bent trash. Long time MOTORAMA fans won’t be disappointed. Newbies into stuff like Mika Miko, the Intellectuals, the Husbands, Headcoatees, Juanita Y Los Feos, Black Sunday or the Demolition Doll Rods will definitely dig.
JUANITA Y LOS FEOS "S/T" CDJUANITA Y LOS FEOS don't really immerse themselves in a genre. They take cues from various guitar based "Back From the Grave" howlers of yore and speckle their tunes with the keys heavy scree of bands like the Screamers and Devo; and the anthem-ey qualities of classic punk bands like the Avengers and Weirdos. They even throw in a few choice Flamenco guitar licks here and there as a subtle nod to their regional Spanish heritage. And the culmination of their characteristic genre-dabblings paired with their undenying, fervent delivery is what really sets JUANITA apart from the pack.
Huns "Live At The Palladium 1979" CD This CD is a reissue of the Existential Vacuum album and displays Austin's aptly named Huns raw and alive back in 1979. These guys swallowed the punk concept whole, and what they came up with was an intense brew that sounds as powerful tday as it did then! 8 page bookelt with photos and liner notes by member Tom Huckabee.
THE FUNCTIONAL BLACKOUTS "The Very Best Of The Monkees" CDthe final nail in the coffin from the FUNCTIONAL BLACKOUTS! ‘The Very Best Of The Monkees’ is a singles and rarities collection of sorts and spans the entire 5 year career of the band. From their earlierst recordings to the final recordings, this assortment nicely captures the transitional writing process of FUNCTIONAL BLACKOUTS! You can hear the evolution of the band starting out as a pretty straight forward Germs-ey, fuck all punk band in the Ryan Kill-A-Watt sessions of 2002. And evolving into the punk cum noise, Electric Eels/Screamers dreck of their later releases that the underground will always remember them by
THE FEELERS "Learn To Hate The Feelers" CD Taking bits and pieces of classic punk bands like the Germs, Registrators, Zero Boys and Lewd and smashin' 'em to pieces, the FEELERS duct taped everything back together into 13 rage filled tunes blurred amidst a mess of abrasive, dual guitar fuzz, and demented, psychopathic vox!! For fans of: Catholic Boys, Kajun SS, Tampoffs, Slowmotions, Tokyo Electron, Evolutions, FM Bats, Human Eye, Stitches, Functional Blackouts, Le Shok, Registrators, Fatals, AluminumKnotEye, Blank-Its etc.

This free spirited rock n roll 4 piece contains Lee Lazarine, Dana Williams and Rodney Baird of the seminal Dallas combo the Mullens. Well the Sunday Drunks continue on where the Mullens left off. Impressive debut from these dedicated bunch of Dallas rockers! For fans of: Radio Birdman, Weaklings, Vultures, Bell Rays, Flash Express, Richmond Sluts etc.
THE SUNDAY DRUNKS "On The Prowl" CD These sun soaked Texas rock veterans starting originally as a side project of Lee Lazarine and Rodney Baird while they were still jammin' in the Mullens. With a few, dare I say, Mullens-esque rompers like 'Losin Again' and 'Just Some Fool' to the more laid back, country-fied blues ditties: 'Sunday Drunk' and 'Back To The End'; Lee and Rodney aren't afraid to appropriately reflect on their musical past, as well as show the maturation of the SUNDAY DRUNKS song writing abilities since the their debut. Abiding by the SUNDAY DRUNKS credo of keeping it TUNEFULL, RAW, and LOUD 'On The Prowl' is a rock solid follow up to their impressive 'S/T' debut
THE WEAKLINGS “Rock N Roll Owes Me” CD11 songs of raw brash, sleazy rock n roll. Whereas the WEAKLINGS began as more of a loud fast punk band in ’95, they have evolved into a sleazy dirty raunchy rock outfit. The songs on ‘’Rock N Roll Owes Me’ have more swagger and verve than their earlier blast ya fast approach. Their “NEVER SAY DIE” attitude and dedication to the road has cost them many members over the years, but has also earned them a rabid loyal fan base along the way. A fan base that has helped earn the WEAKLINGS a slot as one of the best and wildest bands in the underground rock n roll scene. Love ‘em or hate ‘em, the WEAKLINGS are still here and to those fans we give you the ‘Rock N Roll Owes Me’
UGLY BEATS "Take A Stand With" CD

Ugly Beats "Bring On The Beats!" CD Austin Garage combo. Each and every beat on this platter was carefully designed to make your hips swing and your feet shake. Now you don’t have to travel to Austin, Texas to experience the off-the-hook Farfisa-infected sounds of The Ugly Beats. Just drop the needle in the groove and let your feet do the rest. The heartfelt vocals and tight rhythms on all 10 originals and two covers (Easybeats and Dutch Outsiders killers) will be reason enough to convince you that this band is the new garage real deal!
TWO TIMIN' FOUR - Dark Before The Dawn
On this third CD by New England transplants (they reloacted to Austin, TX), they added a drummer (hence the moniker change) and thus added to the depth of their sound. In addition to covering the rockabilly, twang & swing they're noted for, TTF hit hard with roots-rockin' muscle!
TWO TIMIN' THREE - Payin' The Price
Second CD by this young New England rockabilly trio. This time around they venture well into rock-boppin' roots & swing territory, without sacrificing the twang. Great release, and proof that you don't necessarily need drums to dance!

D.W. IDOLS "S/T" CD Recent offering from Sam Cole & The D.W. Idols. If you lived in Austin in the 90's you might have been lucky enough to see Cole play with one of his criminally overlooked combos the southernrawkish trio the Pallbearers or his delta goth orchestra Pearly Gates. Sam takes it a whole different direction this go around with a honky tonk sound that is what Texas country should sound like.

The Service Industry Calm DownOn their fourth album, the acclaimed Austin, TX-based collective of veteran cool band rockers known as The Service Industry expand their reach beyond the day job drudgery and proletariat pop/rock politics of their previous CDs to address relationships, the places we live, and the swirling worlds within and around us with unshakable hooks, big badass beats, guitars that snarl and roar, and the most dynamic guy/gal tandem vocals this side of X. With their “shimmering power pop loaded with sing-along melodies” (RocknReel) along with “bits of punk, splashes of glam and touches of country [and a] smartly rocking vibe” (Texas Music), the group reminds of countless cool combos you know and love with a sound all their own that feels like your new favorite band with a witty populist bent that speaks to the tough times we live in with savvy, panache and eternally relevant rockist appeal.
Piñata Protest PlethoraThe San Antonio, TX foursome Piñata Protest takes a bat to the paper mache conventions of traditional Chicano music and punk rock to smash it
all open and scatter sheer fun and zesty energy about that gets the
fiesta hopping. On their debut album, Plethora, they “forcefully
take the raw essence of conjunto into warp-speed tempos and punky
aggression,” observes the San Antonio Current, which rates the band as
“one of the most original forces on the local music scene.” With the
accordion front and center, the band mixes everything from the migrant
worker tale of “Campesino” to the newest borderland twists on teenaged
kicks with a sound they call “punk rock-y-roll.” As Texas Street Scene
observes, “Their mix of conjunto and punk rock always brings a crowd to
their feet and are sure to keep you moving throughout the night,” and
Plethora is an intoxicating keg of Tecate with a bushel of limes that
signals a powerful new musical wrinkle in music from Texas for the world.
Glambilly “Cavalier Behavior”
New set from the artful Hans Frank and fretboard shreddin’ co-conspirator Danny Aaron ( Dangerous Toys). If Slade had emerged from Tennessee or Texas five years earlier they might have sounded something like this.
The In & Outlaws “S/T”
Yet another great act from San Antonio, kicks the shit out of just about everything around that is labeled as “Texas Country” (i.e. Red Dirt Garbage). This is a self-released demo, but highly recommended.
